Shot close to the shoreline at Avalon Beach, NSW, Surge turns the ordinary edge of a retreating wave into something sculptural — foam mapping its own fleeting form across dark wet sand, every bubble a tiny world about to disappear. In black and white, the texture becomes almost geological. The ocean, writing in a language only the shore can read.
